The heavy metal heroes announce 40th Anniversary Castles & Eagles Tour. Tickets are on sale now.

Yorkshire heavy metal monoliths Saxon have announced a very special 40th Anniversary Castles & Eagles Tour for October 2019 taking in Glasgow, London and Manchester.

Marking four decades since they unleashed their eponymous debut album, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal torchbearers will play a trio of shows in iconic venues featuring their fabled castle stage set in its enormity together with the classic Eagle Lighting rig.

Kicking off proceedings on Friday 18th October, Saxon will play their biggest Scottish show of their 40-year career at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena where they will be joined by special guest Black Star Riders together with Girlschool who are opening the show.

For the first time since their Hammersmith Odeon shows in the 1980s, Saxon will then play London Eventim Apollo Hammersmith on Saturday 19th October and Manchester Apollo on Sunday 20th October.

They will be joined at these two shows by Swiss hard rockers Krokus, who are playing their final tour, plus Girlschool and Diamond Head.

Saxon singer Biff Byford comments: “We are very happy to be celebrating 40 years of Saxon by playing these great venues – to be back at Hammersmith and Manchester Apollo is fantastic and to see all our Scottish friends at Braehead Arena just tops it off!

“The show will be the biggest and best since the classic era of the band and the set list will be …. Well let’s say we’ll start with ‘Wheels Of Steel’ – straight into ‘Strong Arm Of The Law’ into ‘Denim & Leather’ … that good enough for you?”

See Saxon at the following shows:

Glasgow Braehead Arena – Fri 18th
London Eventim Apollo Hammersmith – Sat 19th
Manchester O2 Apollo - Sun 20th
