In The Loop

Massive Wagons   Dave Day

The concert takes place in Burrow-In-Furness at the Raiders rugby stadium to celebrate the life of Hairy Biker and hometown hero Dave Myers.

The gig will be a big part of Dave Day along with a mass motorcycle ride starting at 7am from The Ace Café London and rolling into Barrow from approximately 4pm onwards.

Many thousands are expected to participate to honour Dave’s love for motorcycling with the ride being led by his best friend and fellow Hairy Biker Si King.  Two charities chosen by Liliana, Dave’s widow, Childline and the Institute of Cancer Research will benefit from fundraising around the event.

Massive Wagon’s will headline and joining them on the bill are Blue Nation, Maiden Cumbria, The Silver Bars, Jordan Gaffney, God Damn Smile, The Dales and Route 66. All bands are giving their time for free and the whole event is being organised by volunteers.

Barry Mills Massive Wagons frontman is excited to be involved and says:
‘It’s an immense honour to be asked to play at Dave Day in remembrance of Dave Myers, although our paths never crossed in person we came from the same world, I’m a biker, a big fan of rock music and we both hail from the grim north haha, I think Dave was the kinda guy everyone felt a connection with, he was a lovely humble down to earth chap who was extremely open and honest about his life and loves. It’s a real sad loss but I think Dave Day is the perfect way to remember and celebrate him, and we are honoured to be part of it’
